Description
A silver-gilt electroplate trophy cup. The tapering cylindrical on a spreading foot, the foot and lower body each chased with foliage, the rim chased with thistles, shamrocks and roses all on a textured ground with two angular scroll handles, each terminating in a cow’s mask, engraved on one side Royal Dublin Society Cattle Show Phoenix Challenge Cup presented by the Phoenix Oil Mill Company Ltd. Liverpool for the best breeding animal in the cattle classes of Kerries and Dexters, all on a wooden ebonised plinth contained in a fitted case, further engraved with various names and dates.
