Description
Letter from W. M. Flinders Petrie, 8 Well Road, Hampstead, to Lawrence E. Steele, dated 29 October 1900. Petrie discusses Steele's order of glass plate slides and photographing a grave. 2pp.
Transcription:
"Dear Mr Steele,
The negatives will be all numbered by the book plates of Royal Tombs in a day or two, and then your order for slides will go to Mr Murray along with the negatives for him to print.
I have no photo of the minor graves, as it is a long matter to arrange a grave to give an intelligible photo. It takes 1/2 to 1 hour to dress a grave to be photographed, with all the bones [b?] and cleaned and everything in place and ritual. I am off in a few days to Egypt. I hope you, Mr Brooke and others may work up a branch of the E.E.F. in Dublin. You could then have some things sent over.
Yours sincerely,
Wlm. F. Petrie"
