Portrait bust of Thomas Philip, 2nd Earl de Grey (1781–1859), politician and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (1841-44) and President of the RDS for the same period; the subject modelled to proper left, with blind eyes; wearing classical robes and the star of the Order of the Garter at proper left breast; on a quadrangular terminal base; inscribed recto De Grey, signed T Farrell M.S.T.A.F.
