Description

Walter Clegg Stevenson, 1877–1931, was a surgeon and radiologist at Dr. Steevens’ Hospital, Dublin. Together with Professor John Joly, he developed a new method of radium therapy in the treatment of cancer. The subject mustachioed, depicted bust length, in frontal profile, seated on a hoop-back Windsor style chair and wearing a dark, three-piece suit and tie with wing-tip shirt collar, signed l.r. Walter Osborne.
