Description
Handwritten letter from Thomas Preston to George F. Fitzgerald about Fitzgerald’s upcoming scientific experiment. Preston writes from his home in Bardowie, Orwell Park, Rathgar, County Dublin. He intends to visit the laboratory the next day to observe the experiment and gain “practical hints” that may benefit his own work by increasing “illumination” and decreasing “exposure.” He thanks Fitzgerald for sending him the rough papers. 3pp.
Transcription:
“My dear Prof. Fitzgerald,
Many thanks for your note. I have looked into your estimation and think it first class! I shall run into your laboratory tomorrow in the afternoon to see the experiment + get any practical hints you can give me towards its adoption. I shall bless you much if it increases my illumination and decreases my exposure! Many thanks for rough papers which I just received.
