Description
The subjects modelled partially draped, reclining on rocks, surmounted by bunches of grapes and vine leaves, the figure of Ino with outstretched proper left arm dangling a bunch of grapes (lost) above the head of Bacchus, the infant reaching upwards with both arms, signed J H Foley Sculptor London 1840, and the base inscribed Ino and Bacchus, with two applied labels numbered 189.
