Description
The ovoid body on a stepped, domed base, the lower body chased with foliage, the shoulder chased with a band of trailing foliage and palmettes on a textured ground, with two handles of two entwined snakes and applied grotesque mask shields, engraved on one side with the inscription ROYAL DUBLIN SOCIETY HORSE SHOW PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP FOR THE BEST THOROUGHBRED BROOD MARE WITH FOAL AT FOOT OWNED BY AN EXHIBITOR RESIDENT IN IRELAND, and further engraved with names and dates.
This cup is presented by the Royal Dublin Society in memory of Mr. Michael Moran to the winner of the Six-Year-Old ‘Cruising’ National Show Jumping Championship.
