Portrait of The Hon. William Evelyn Wylie, K.C. (1881–1964), Irish barrister, legal advisor to Dublin Castle, judge of the High Court in Ireland, President of the Royal Dublin Society (1938-41), Vice-President of the Royal Dublin Society (1926-64), Executive Committee Chairman (1936-59), Master of the Ward Union Hounds (1925-39). The subject depicted three-quarter length, in proper left three-quarter profile; wearing a red hunt coat, white cravat and black velvet riding helmet, a hunting horn tucked between his top two coat buttons; a cracking whip in his white-gloved proper left hand, his proper right hand ungloved; set against a rural landscape with black clouds.
