Description
Handwritten letter from George Gore from Institute of Scientific Research 67, Broad Street, Birmingham to George F. Fitzgerald, dated Jan 9th 1894. Gore writes in response to a letter received from Fitzgerald. Gore discusses his experiments he hopes to publish.
My dear Sir,
I have to thank you for your thoughtful and suggestive letter. On second research employing an oxidizable metallic powder is very desirable; a long time ago I purchased a quantity of platinum powder for the purpose. I have not seen Lord Rayleigh's remark to which you kindly refer me. My series of experiments on change of temperature of liquids by contact with powdered Silica will I hope be published before very long.
Hoping to see your communication in "Nature".
I am Yours Truly,
G. Gore
