Description
Handwritten letter from Edward Tremlett Carter, Fleet Street, London, to George F. Fitzgerald, dated 4 August 1898. Carter accepts an offer from Fitzgerald pertaining the "The Electrician" periodical.
Transcription:
"Dear Prof. Fitzgerald
I am much obliged for the offer of Prof. Lyle's paper referred to in your letter of the 3rd. inst. If the paper is not excessively long I should be pleased to publish it in The Electrician. Will you kindly send me the M.S. at your earliest convenience. Proofs had better be sent to you, I presume, in the event of the paper being of suitable length for acceptance. I will send you duplicate proofs and will be much obliged if you will revise and return one of them. If you can let me have one or two editorial notes commenting on the paper, or a leader on its subject matter, I would be additionally pleased.
I suppose I shall have the pleasure of seeing you at the B.G. at Bristol next month.
