Portrait bust of Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1694-1773), Lord Lieutenant of Ireland (1745-46) and President of the RDS for the same period; the subject modelled to proper left, wearing classical robes; on a black marble socle of quadrangular, waisted form; inscribed recto Chesterfield.
