Dear Prof, Fitzgerald.
I am much obliged to you for your letter re cable disturbance which I passed on to my consulting friend with the result that he wides me to the effect that his firm proposes to take your advice and consult Mr Oliver Heaviside if Mr Preece's opposition prove serious. It does not pay (in £.s.d)to the magnanimous in these commercial days. "To save the face" of the firm a 200 mile cable will probably be built an the circuits arranged as advised and the eng experiements will be indulged in to cure the obvious want of balance.
I am sorry I troubled you.
Your's very truely,
W. G. Bond
