Transcription:

"Dear Prof. Fitzgerald.

I live in hopes of seeing a diplomatic draw from you in time for next issue.

Last night at the Institution of Electrical Engineers I was engaged for nearly half an hour in an interesting conversation with the great man; he was geniality x10?
He was extremely pained at the receipt of several "indecent" epistles from "mathematicians". I wonder if one of them comes from Dublin? He also glories greatly in his victory over the - gentlemen in inverted commas. Theirs ignorance ... [a?] me, [?] something amazing!

Yours very truly
W. G. Bond"
