Handwritten letter from Thomas Preston to George F. Fitzgerald, written on 13 February 1899 [location not printed]. Preston writes about a scientific paper by Becquerel [probably referring to Alexandre-Edmond Becquerel, a French physicist], which concerns the spectrum of iron. He describes the scientific observations made in this paper and refers to his own past work in the Royal Dublin Society Paper in December 1897 and Philosophy magazine in April 1898. He writes about his experiments in spectrum analysis of different elements. 4pp.
