Transcription:
My dear Fitzgerald,
Thank you warmly for your congratulations I shall be very sorry for many reasons to leave Dublin, I look forward with some misgivings to the possibilities of the new position.
Thank you also for the kind way in which you helped to influence on the electors: and please don't remember what I said about,
Professor,
You may mind if I say so, lest is is true all the same, the loss which I shall feel most is going away, is the loss of you, what shall I do when I want to ask a question involving Physics in a university when there is no Fitzgerald?
Mrs Sollas joins me in kind regards as I am
Sincerely yours,
W.J Sollas
