Description
Handwritten letter from John Edward Cullum, Valencia Observatory, Cahirciveen, County Kerry, to George F. Fitzgerald, dated 29 March 1888. Cullum sends Fitzgerald the amount needed to pay for his scientific experiments, and discusses future payments. 2pp.
Transcription:
"Dear Sir,
I am sending you by this post the Amounts expended on Account of the Magnetic Observations.
You will see that I have not yet paid for the Observing House and the determination of the constants of the Coll. Magnet. There is not likely to be any more Expenses, exceptions will have to be made for its Azimuth, which can be corrected at the end of the series.
I intend making Absolute measurements of Horizontal Intensity. Inclination and Declination [?] a month to correspond with the Kew Observations, published in the Annual Report.
