Dear Professor Fitzgerald
In a paper in the Phil mag. March 1897 by Dr. Grehore and Squier there are I think serious and fundamental errors.
I have written a short paper, which I send you enclosed, correcting these errors and I will feel greatly indebted at you looking through it and if you think it worth publishing in the Phil. Mag. of seeing it through for me.
I have made the paper as short as I can only connecting the two main slips they make and not touching on the "variation diagrams" they give. Though these seem to me to be founded on error.
I have it in my mind to write a short paper on an allied subject and if when I reduce it [?] paper if it works out neatly enough I will if you don't mind send it to you.
I see from time to time that many of the fellows of my time are passing away. I was very sorry indeed to see lately of Dr. Palmer's death.
I am looking forward to going home for a holiday next year, and hope to spend some time in Dublin then.
Yours very sincerely,
Thomas R. Lyle
