Portrait bust of Sir Richard John Griffith (1784-1878), geologist, surveyor and RDS Mining Engineer (1812–39), noted for his; the subject modelled to proper left; on a quadrangular terminal base; inscribed recto Sir Richard Griffith, Bart, signed verso T Farrell RHA.
Thomas Farrell was a pupil at the Royal Dublin Society School of Modelling.
